Best Fashion Moments of 2017

2017 comes to an end, it’s difficult to pick our favorite fashion moment from this year. There were a lot of runways, trends, collaborations, uplifting campaigns, the fashion world was replete with a lot of inspiring news. Take a look back at all the standout moments that took our breath away, that were, in one word, unforgettable.

The supermodels reunite at Versace

Versace’s Spring 2018 show paid tribute to the fashion house’s late founder, Gianni Versace. The special show reunited the original ’90s supermodels on the runway, the crew included Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, and Carla Bruni, who all walked down the runway in metallic gold dresses.

 

Kaia Gerber Makes Her Runway Debut

The 16-year-old model had a breakout season after making her runway debut at Calvin Klein during New York Fashion Week in September. Kaia Gerber, daughter of iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford, walked for Alexander Wang, Saint Laurent, Versace, Miu Miu, Burberry and she even opened the Chanel show.

 

Rihanna at The Met Gala

2017’s Met Gala celebrated the avant-garde designs of Rei Kawakubo, it was the first time the event honored a living artist since 1983. Rihanna showed up wearing one of the designer’s fall/winter 2016 looks and let’s not forget the lace-up heels that tied up her legs.

 

Saint Laurent Stages a Show under The Eiffel Tower

Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2018 collection was unveiled underneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Designer Anthony Vaccarello did not stray far from his strengths: sexy, party-ready dresses, rocker-chic leather, statement boots. As models hit the runway, the iconic French monument lit up and sparkled in the background, creating a spectacular show.

 

Sister Power!

After Gigi Hadid lost a shoe at Anna Sui’s Spring 2018 show, her sister Bella gave her a helping hand, and they closed the show together. It was probably an uncomfortable situation on the runway turned into an adorable sisters moment.

 

Ashley Graham Walked Michael Kors’ Fall Show

2017 was a year of wins for Ashley Graham, she became first curve model to walk Michael Kors. All eyes were on Ashley that day, she rocked a slitted dress, fur coat, and glove pumps on the catwalk.

 

“Stranger Things” Louis Vuitton Fashion Show T-Shirt

Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière is No. 1 Stranger Things fan. The French fashion house sent t-shirts emblazoned with the Netflix show down the runway at Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2018 collection.

 

Adwoa Aboah Is Named Model of The Year

British fashion model, activist and feminist Adwoa Aboah received the Model of the Year honor at The 2017 Fashion Awards. Up against Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Winnie Harlow, and Kaia Gerber, Adwoah Aboah took home the award after a breakout year of runways, campaigns, and more.

Christopher Bailey Stepped Down From Burberry

Burberry announced in October that Christopher Bailey, its president and chief creative, would be parting ways with the British heritage brand. Bailey will remain in his role until March 31, 2018, and leave Burberry entirely in December, after 17 years with the company.

 

2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro was the chosen angel to wore the $2 Million Fantasy Bra at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The piece was designed by Mouaward jewels and it was without a doubt breathtaking.
