Celebrities, fashion girls and style-forward people around the world are wearing mismatched shoes on purpose. Generally, the shoes are of the same design but with the color or a few details being swapped.
It’s a trend that started on the runway at Céline, as soon as the first pair of red and white booties made their way onto runways, people knew it would become a huge trend. It was also repeated by fashion houses like Moschino and Calvin Klein, the truth is that it was only a matter of time until everyone wanted to wear intentionally mismatched shoes.
There are two ways to go about wearing mismatched shoes in real life: you can choose to wear a left shoe in one color and a right shoe in an entirely different hue or simply a slight variation between shoes. Still unconvinced? Opt for similar tones, and mix and match from two different color pairs of the same shoe.
Selena Gomez wore a pair of chunky wooden heels by Jacquemus at the third annual InStyle Awards and then Emily Ratajkowski wore the same pair to the Vogue Party at Paris Fashion Week.
